OPTIONS: WAKING UP You wake up in a studio in an apartment building that's got windows all boarded up. You remember being sick, you remember dying, and you probably can't believe this is the afterlife. If you head out into the hall you'll see that others are heading out too, looking just as confused as you are. All of you died, most of you of the same thing. If you head down to the front office, you'll meet a native resident who will explain in brief that you're in Aqora, a settlement living among the undead and that people like you show up every so often. You'll be given an informational pamphlet, a shitty cell phone, and a walkie. Then you'll be expected to figure it out. No one has time to hold your hand. EXPLORING Miscellaneous things here: shops and restaurants turned into places to live, apartments full of people living day to day, the main focus (the library) being the hub where people come to learn and children go to school. Because school never ends, even in the apocalypse. Feel free to buddy up with other newcomers to figure out what the hell is going on. OR, say you've been here a while. It's time to figure out how to get more supplies! Let's go on a supply run. You'll just be heading out past the barricades to start, and you'll have to dig through buildings to try and find things. If you're lucky, maybe you'll hit a cache. If you're unlucky, you'll find too many undead to fight. No one goes out alone though, so hopefully your partner can help. "NETWORK" Someone has set up a rudimentary network using the nearest cell towers. You can communicate with others in the area but only via voice and text. Anything further out is voice only via walkies. You can have a username or leave it blank. Have fun, campers.

But it may be best if we keep our involvement with the yakuza a secret here. It seems unlikely that it will come up, but I'd rather avoid any complications that might stem from others' misconceptions.

[ I mean. Who knows when that would actually come in handy, but seeing as they're in America, and dead, they probably won't have many leads... ]

[ mine sees it for the joke it is, but it isn't a joke he's fond of. that's too real. and daigo had been shot not too long ago. (at least for him - who knows how much daigo has endured since?) ]

[ Daigo smiles. Just having one person by his side would be enough to make him feel safer, but Mine was especially devoted to him... even barring all the unethical stuff he did while Daigo was in a coma. Daigo still trusts him with his life. ]

[ Even the insane stuff Daigo later found out about... in his own way, Mine was doing what he believed Daigo never could. He may not have used methods Daigo would have approved of, but there's no doubt in Daigo's mind that Mine had the best intentions at heart. ]

I appreciate all you did for me, truly. I know much of it was fueled by grief... but you were loyal to me to the very end, Mine.

mine turns away from him, trying to collect himself. trying not to let the emotions show from behind his cool, perfect mask. on the one hand, daigo probably deserves his honesty. on the other hand, mine doesn't really believe he deserves the comfort. it's a double-edged sword. ]

What happened in Tokyo hardly matters, now.

[ Daigo would disagree, but they probably don't need to talk about it now, when they've both just freshly arrived in some sort of zombie-infested afterlife. He'll give Mine his privacy and let him table the issue for now. ]

Is there a specific area in Aqora that is designated for residences, or are we to simply claim someplace as our own...?

From what I understand from the pamphlet, there are spaces converted into places to live and as long as no one is already occupying them, it should be fine to take up residence there.

I see. Then we should see about finding someplace fairly self-sufficient. Even just a kitchen would be good.

[ He hasn't checked if there's running water yet and tbh he doesn't want to know if there isn't. He. He still has his moments but he knows he was spoiled as a kid... ]

If we contribute to the farm, we should be able to harvest vegetables from it.

That sounds promising. [ He smiles. Hey, if they have to keep a low profile they can always help out on the farm? ]

It's been a long time since I had to cook for myself. At the very least that should prove to be interesting.
